A grown-up hot chocolate made with hemp milk, dark chocolate, and a quiet pinch of sea salt. Heavier than instant cocoa, lighter than a melted truffle.
Hemp Hot Chocolate
Yields 2 mugs. Prep 8 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups hemp milk
- 60 g dark chocolate (70%), chopped
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of flaky salt
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, splash of espresso, dash of cayenne
- To top: whipped cream and a sprinkle of hemp hearts
Method
- Warm hemp milk in a saucepan over medium-low. Whisk in cocoa until smooth.
- Add chopped chocolate, sweetener, and salt. Whisk until chocolate is fully melted.
- Off heat, whisk in vanilla.
- Pour into mugs. Top with whipped cream and hemp hearts.
