Green Hemp Smoothie

A green smoothie that does not taste like a lawn. The frozen pineapple and banana mask the spinach; the hemp hearts add complete protein and stop the morning hunger crash that hits at 10 a.m.

Green Hemp Smoothie

Yields 1 large smoothie. Prep 4 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hemp milk (or any milk)
  • 2 large handfuls baby spinach
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 3 tablespoons hemp hearts
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 small piece fresh ginger (1 cm)
  • 1/2 cup ice

Method

  1. Add liquids first, then spinach, then fruit and hemp, then ice.
  2. Blend on high 60 seconds until smooth.
  3. Pour into a tall glass. Sprinkle with hemp hearts.

Nutrition

Approximately 380 calories, 17 g protein, 18 g fat, 42 g carbohydrate, 9 g fibre.
