A trail mix template that scales for a hike or a week of desk snacking. The hemp hearts and pumpkin seeds carry the protein; the dried fruit keeps it from being only nuts.
Hemp Trail Mix
Yields about 5 cups. Prep 5 minutes.
Base
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 1 cup raw cashews or walnuts
- 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 cup hemp hearts
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries or chopped dates
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks or chips
- 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Method
- Optional: toast nuts and seeds (not hemp) on a sheet pan at 175°C for 8-10 minutes, watching closely. Cool fully before mixing.
- Combine everything in a large bowl. Store in jars.
